ELUA is raising funds to increase awareness of efforts in Sacramento that threaten to have a negative and permanent impact on our community.
Why A T-Shirt?
We are selling these T-Shirts to fund a public awareness campaign. This campaign will use a variety of communication channels to raise awareness of the fact that Carlsbad will experience explosive, uncontrolled and irreversible growth if we don’t do something to stop the California state housing laws causing this crisis. Most people are completely unaware that Sacramento has severely limited local control of residential development, replacing it with a statewide one-size-fits-all approach that mandates high-density development favoring developer profits over community wellbeing. This trend is accelerating and it will destroy Carlsbad as we know and love it.

More About The T-Shirt
This T-Shirt is designed by Abigail Tugaw, a local graphic designer and ELUA supporter.
The style is inspired by the original Morey Boogie logo, connecting to the fact that Boogie boards were invented in Carlsbad and produced here for many years.
The tagline respect the vibe draws its roots from the T-Shirt Fundraiser for the Save Carlsbad Plaza campaign, which sported the tagline “Respect Olde Carlsbad”. We lost the Carlsbad Village Plaza (Smart & Final) due to state laws that defied legal challenge. We can’t let that happen again.
